Tuxer Glacier The Tuxer valley is a romantic high valley at the end of the Zillertal. With its impressive ice masses the Hintertuxer glacier is the ideal skiing region during all four seasons. Tratzberg Castle Was build 1500 m high above the Inn valley, between Kufstein and Innsbruck, and was already in use of emperor Maximilian and the Fuggers as a hunting castle. The building structure was enlarged in the Renaissance and feudally equipped. Silvermine Schwaz The mother of all mines. You can really get insight into how those 11,000 boys had to work so hard to dig for silver and copper over 500 years ago. In the 15th and 16th century the hard-working miners made Schwaz into the 2nd largest town in Austria. The Tyrol became the richest land in Europe at that time. Schwaz was made into the largest silver-mining metropolis in the world.
